The EU, US and other countries have supported Ukraine in the transit dispute with Russia in the WTO.
The dispute settlement body of the world trade organization (WTO) adopted the decision about creation of group of experts in a dispute filed by Ukraine to Russia in terms of restrictions of transit through Russia to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of economic development and trade Natalia Mykolskiy on the page in Facebook.
According to the Gaina, this was preceded by long and hard work of a team of experts to collect evidence of the formation of legally legitimate position of Ukraine, meeting with Ukrainian business and the passage of mandatory procedural stages of the resolution of the dispute with Russia.
“The claim of Ukraine to Russia is very important for us, and not only for us as limitations of transit is not only a part of the trade aggression against Ukraine, the restrictions in bilateral trade between Ukraine and Russia and attempt to oust the Ukrainian export market of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, making the delivery of goods via an alternative route longer and more expensive”, – wrote Mykolskiy.
She stressed that Ukraine supports the EU, US, Brazil, India, Turkey, China, Norway, Japan, Canada, Korea, Singapore and Paraguay.
The Ukrainian side has sent the requirement for the establishment of the expert group in DS 512 “Russian Federation – measures relating to the transit movement.”
20 February Russia rejected a request of Ukraine to establish a team of experts.
