One of the main creditors of Ukraine, the world Bank is concerned about developments around anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine.
This is stated in the press service of the WB.
“We are deeply concerned by attacks on an independent anti-corruption institutions in Ukraine, particularly on National anti-corruption Bureau and the Specialized anticorruption Prosecutor’s office. These attacks threaten the ability of new anti-corruption institutions to fight corruption and return stolen assets,” the Bank’s statement says.
New anti-corruption bodies should have an appropriate legislative framework and resources to fulfil its mandate, added the world Bank.
We will remind, in the beginning of the week the US, the EU and the UK released a tough statement in defense of NABOO, accusing the Prosecutor General and the security service in disrupting the operations of the Bureau and interference in his work.
