The victory of a supporter of Putin in Serbia: what effects to expect

Sounded possible scenarios.

Under the new President Alexander Vukica Serbia will not abandon the European integration course, but at the same time will try to maintain friendly relations with Russia.

This opinion was expressed by analyst of the International centre for policy studies, Yevgeny Yaroshenko.

“The victory of Vucic is quite predictable. Because according to opinion polls he had about the same chances as Poroshenko 3 years ago in Ukraine. That is, if not the first, then the second round he would have anyway won the presidency. What will be Serbia with the President? You can say that will remain the same ruling team, the same Progressive party is in power. Therefore, Serbia will continue its policy of “splits”. That is to try to continue the integration, but to maintain friendly relations with Russia”, — said the expert on international relations.

As you know, the headquarters Aleksandar Vucic announced the victory of their candidate in the presidential election. Note that only six days before the vote, Vucic managed to fly to Moscow, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

There, he announced that Belgrade should maintain friendly relations with Russia.
