The US wants to see UN peacekeepers on the border with Russia

The U.S. side agreed to introduce peacekeeping troops in the troubled areas.

Peacekeeping forces in the zone of armed conflict in the Donbass should be placed, in particular, on the Russian-Ukrainian border. On Wednesday, 13 September, said the head of the press service of the U.S. Department of state Heather Nauert.

“Any such force should have a broad mandate to ensure peace and security throughout the occupied territory of Ukraine, up to and including the border with Russia,” she said.

Neuert also said that the United States consider the peacekeepers as “a potential tool for the protection of Ukrainian citizens regardless of their ethnicity and nationality.
