The US said that disrupted the project “Northern stream-2”

After the introduction of the us sanctions on Russia will not be able to complete the construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2”. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of energy Dan Browett on the sidelines of the Munich security conference.

According to him, without foreign partners, the implementation of the project Russia “too tough”, as they do not have appropriate technology.

Druitt stressed that “Gazprom” has faced not with a short-term delay in construction, but with much more serious problems. The only way out for Russia would be “a technological breakthrough” in the shortest possible time.

“This is a very long delay, because Russia does not have the appropriate technology. If they can develop, then we will see what their actions will follow,” the Minister said in an interview with Bloomberg.

Reporters asked about the fact that whether Russia to circumvent US sanctions, which came into force at the end of 2019. After entering the constraints, the laying of “Nord stream-2” — the Swiss company Allseas Group SA, stopped work and withdrew from the Baltic sea in their vessels.

The energy Minister also said that Europe should reduce its energy dependence on Russia and instead to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States.
