This year musicians from the air force, army, Navy, marine corps, and US coast guard performed an English version of “shchedryk” by Leontovich.
“Shchedryk” — Christmas Ukrainian folk song, which gained worldwide popularity in the music of Mykola Leontovych. The musical heritage of Leontovych are choral miniatures — processing of Ukrainian folk songs, which still are unsurpassed and observed by all Ukrainian choruses of Ukraine and the Diaspora.
This marked a great talent as a composer pearls of folk melodies “shchedryk”, “Kozaka nesut”, “Dudaryk”, “Iz-Gori snack to letit”, “Janicak-Brancion”, “Hai, Hai, green rozmay” and many others.
