UN Secretary-General condemned the attack in the Finnish city of Turku and expressed their solidarity with the country’s authorities in combating terrorism.
“He expresses his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Finland and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured”, — the “RIA Novosti“.
It adds that “the UN expresses solidarity with the government of Finland in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.”
On Friday in the Finnish town of Turku, a man with a knife attacked passers-by. Police reported two dead and eight injured.
According to the Yle radio, the victims – 15-year-old girl and a woman of 67 years. Police also announced the arrest of a suspect, who was wounded in the leg and another five people.
On Saturday, the police said that the attack is being investigated as a terrorist attack. The suspect was wounded during the arrest, 18 — year-old citizen of Morocco.
