The UEFA coefficients table: Ukraine closer to Belgium

Two wins in three games has allowed Ukraine to substantially reduce the backlog of Belgium in the fight for the eighth row in the UEFA coefficients table.

The tone for a successful week asked Shakhtar the Pitmen in the first round group stage of the Champions League thanks to goals from Tyson and Facundo Ferreyra unexpectedly beat Napoli (2:1). On Thursday, the Dynamo scored a strong-willed victory over the “Skenderbeu” (3:1), and “dawn” Lviv lost to “the Fight” (0:2).

Thus, the first week of the group stages of the European competition brought Ukraine 0.8 points. In the ranking of the season “Shakhtar” and “Dynamo” rose to 21st place and in a summary table in five years, Ukraine is located at ninth position, behind Belgium by 1.4 points. The Belgians in the group stage of the European Cup played only two clubs (Anderlecht and “Zulte-Waregem”), and representatives of the League Jupiler difficult to name favourites to qualify in Europe.
