The U.S. Senate requires to strengthen sanctions against Russia

The United States reaffirmed the provision of security assurances under the Budapest Memorandum.

The US government once again confirmed that it did not support Russia’s aggression and annexation of Crimea. The Senate will continue to support Ukraine, in particular, will give weapons to confront the invaders and to provide humanitarian aid.

The us government has called for strengthening of the economic sanctions against Russia. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

Almost 15 senators from the Republican and Democratic parties were co-sponsors of the resolution, “Condemning illegal Russian aggression in Ukraine in connection with the third anniversary of the annexation of Crimea.” Presented a draft of the Senator from Ohio, Robert Portman and Sherrod brown.

The United States reaffirmed the provision of security assurances under the Budapest Memorandum. Also America will maintain the policy of “non-recognition de jure or de facto sovereignty of Russia over Crimea, its airspace or territorial waters.”
