The U.S. Senate has prepared a resolution on Ukraine, support and condemnation of Russian aggression. The text of the resolution published Republican Senator from Ohio Rob Portman.
“The third anniversary of the illegal annexation of Russia in the Crimea is an opportunity to highlight Ukraine is facing problems and the fundamental principles of U.S. managed international system. The United States and its allies should resume its political, economic and military support for Ukraine and, at least, continue to keep sanctions against Russia until, as long as her behavior will not change,” says the Senator.
“Ukraine deserves our support, and as the conflict moves into its third year, we should leave no doubt in the USA. The Ukrainian community in Ohio knows about the dangers of uncontrolled Russian aggression, so we must use every opportunity to speak out against the illegal annexation of Crimea to Russia”,- said in a resolution.
American politicians say that the annexation of Crimea by Russia is an affront to international norms and threatens regional stability.
At the same time, the senators noted that Washington’s refusal from compliance with the Budapest Memorandum to protect Ukraine will lead to distrust of the United States.
