On new charges of WikiLeaks founder could be sentenced to 175 years
The United States brought new charges against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, in realitate now he could face up to 175 years in prison. This is stated in the statement the U.S. Department of justice.
In an additional 17 paragraphs Assange is accused of illegal publication of classified material, in particular the names of secret sources, and in collusion with the ex-army analyst Chelsea manning for access to classified information.
So, he is accused of illegal publication of the names of confidential sources “who provided information to American diplomats around the world, as well as US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan”, namely, names of local residents, journalists, religious leaders, human rights defenders and political dissidents.
Also Assange is charged with conspiracy to aid former military intelligence analyst in the US army Chelsea manning in obtaining access to classified documents related to nezaboravnog USA.
Moreover, according to investigators, Assange incited and forced manning to get this information to WikiLeaks.
“This information had to be used to the detriment of the United States or benefit a foreign state”, — stated in the Ministry of justice.
Prior to this, Assange was accused only of conspiring with manning to access the computer network of the Pentagon in the framework of the disclosure by WikiLeaks of classified information about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
