The U.S. Congress approved funding for military support of Ukraine

The lower house of Congress had made provision for $ 150 million in military support to Ukraine.

The house of representatives of Congress in the appropriations bill for military purposes in the new fiscal year approved the allocation of $ 150 million in military support to Ukraine until 1 October 2017. “The document States that the funds will be available to the Pentagon to provide Ukraine with military support, including, in particular, the provision of lethal weapons of a defensive character and equipment, logistics support, intelligence support of the Ukrainian army and national security forces, the training of personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces and the like,” said Frieze.

She also noted that the document needs to be approved by the Senate, however, in its opinion, the remarks of the senators may relate only to the budget of the armed forces of the United States.

Earlier it was reported that the Committee on appropriations of the house of representatives proposed to keep the defense budget of the country for the 2017 financial year article on the allocation of funds to Ukraine to purchase weapons.

Note that in December 2016, the Congress approved aid to Ukraine in the security sphere for 2017 in the amount of $ 350 million.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly said that the United States not cut aid to Ukraine and $ 150 million is only part of the previously approved and the rest of the money will allocate after October 1, 2017.
