“To get a good picture, head, eyes, heart and finger should be on the same axis,” says Rui Palha.

Portuguese photographer Rui Palha (Rui Palha) was born in 1953, became interested in photography at 14 years old, and seriously engaged in photography since 2001. Since shoots on the streets of his native Lisbon, preferring to take black and white photos. He argues that: “If you photograph in color, you show the color of the clothes. But if doing black and white pictures that show the color of the soul.”

In his book “Street photography” Paglia writes that for him the key was to quote Robert Capa: “If your pictures are not good enough you are not close enough”. Also, his inspirations, he believes, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Garry Winogrand, Elliott Erwitt. Rui learned a lot by studying the works of these masters.

“Favorite street photos I have… I’m constantly in search of the “moment” and feel that I will seek it always. But important to me all of my street snaps, because each of them is a human story,” says Paglia.
