Russian Opera singer and ex-the Deputy of the state Duma Maria Maksakova, widow of Denis Boronenkov, who was killed in Kiev that spoke Ukrainian.
The video, which the singer reads an excerpt from the famous Opera by Ukrainian composer, has published on his page in Instagram the Russian journalist Artur Gasparyan, who is visiting Ukraine in the Eurovision song contest.
Apparently, Maria Maksakova was talking to a journalist about the importance of the Ukrainian language and called it primary. The singer believes that at least Orient in the Ukrainian language never hurt anyone.
“The Ukrainian language original. Want-not want, but it will have to admit. Empire became, naturally, to support those writers and poets who wrote in Russian, but this does not mean that it is a primary. Possibly a little bit to navigate in the Ukrainian language never hurt anybody,” said Maksakova.
In addition, at the request of the journalist the woman spoke in the Ukrainian language. The singer quoted from “Zaporozhets beyond the Danube”, the Opera by Ukrainian composer Semyon Gulak-Artemovsky.
