Servicemen of the Russian military base of South military district held a battalion tactical exercises with live fire in Abkhazia at the site of Nagvalou.
It is reported by Interfax with reference to head of the press service of the southern military district, Vadim Astafiev.
“Just the exercise was attended by about 500 troops, were involved in more than 100 pieces of military equipment, including modern armored personnel carriers BTR-82A, the latest tanks T-72B3, communication vehicle based on the BTR-80, and all-terrain vehicles KAMAZ”, – said Astafyev.
He noted that the exercise started earlier in the week, when the “unit connection was alerted and made a 120 km March to designated areas of the landfill.”
