The Odessa city Council decided to discontinue the centralized hot water supply to the population.
The corresponding solution MPs adopted at the session of 4 July, approving the energy efficiency program for the years 2017-2021.
According to the document, the current heating system was designed, mainly, more than 50 years ago – “in the period of cheap energy”.
Moreover, it is noted that in recent years there has been a significant reduction in the consumption of hot water, in particular, due to the high cost of the service.
“The analysis shows that the annual total estimated damages from the delivery to consumers of hot water is about 100 million UAH, that makes her delivery is absolutely unprofitable,” – said in the decision.
