The railroad is not profitable to engage in the transportation, Balcon

The head of Ukrzaliznytsia announced that passenger transportations are unprofitable.

Passenger traffic for the first half of 2017 Ukrzaliznytsia has caused losses worth UAH 5.4 billion, which is 30% higher than last year, said Wojciech Balczun on his official page in Facebook.

“From the carriage of passengers the damage received in the amount of UAH 5.4 billion, which in comparison with the time control tasks 6 months 2017 decreased by UAH 0.5 billion, but the report of the same period last year, the loss increased by 1.3 billion UAH”, – said the head of the company.

In General, the services of the Railways have used 103,2 million passengers, a 2.3,% more than the same period last year.

The volume of passenger traffic increased by 6.5% compared to the previous year figure and amounted to 13735 million passenger-kilometers.

Thus, according to Balcona for 6 months, the financial result for freight transport is 7.2 billion UAH that more than 1.2 billion UAH of time control tasks and 1.3 billion UAH more than the report of the same period last year.

For six months, Ukrzaliznytsia transported of 166.1 million tonnes of cargo, which is less time control tasks by 0.9% and more of the report 6 months to 2016 by 2.2%.

According to the head of Ukrzaliznytsia, total revenues from transportation in comparison with the first half of 2016 increased by UAH 4 billion.
