“The purge: Island” – the first details of the plot

James Demonaco, the Creator of the franchise “the purge”, in a fresh interview has officially confirmed what we not long ago wrote. First, the fourth film will indeed be a prequel. Moreover, we will show in General the first purge in US history! And secondly, the new picture will have a subtitle of “the Island” (The Purge of The Island).

But with this island and was linked to the main intrigue. What is the island? Real or metaphorical? If as a trial of a social experiment a group of people threw somewhere to the devil horns and allowed there to kill, it certainly would be interesting, but not in the spirit of the franchise. It turned out, it’s very simple: you have to promise them a lot of money (especially the poor); that is to say, to monetize the violence. And then the purge will take place as necessary.

All this sounds very interesting. The manipulation of society, human rigidity, social grotesque. But look at the implementation.

Demonaco, this time confined to the role of the screenwriter, and directing the film will be Gerard McMurray (“the Burning Sands”). The shooting will begin in the end of the month, and announced the concept, perhaps, can hardly wait for the return of Frank Grillo. Although… let’s not make plans.
