The Prime Minister of Canada made an important statement in support of Ukraine

Trudeau said that Canada will always remain with Ukraine against Russian aggression.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the government of Canada and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unwavering position in support of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine in conditions of continuing aggression of the Russian Federation.

“Such a principled position of our allies and partners, the continued political pressure and sanctions, such leadership on the international scene that shows Canada is crucial to stop the war waged by Moscow to force the change of borders of Europe”, – said the President.

Poroshenko added that thanks to the presidency of the G7 Canada can play an even greater role in ensuring peace and stability in Ukraine and Europe.

“We see that the G7 platform also contributes to the efforts of the international group of friends on the de-occupation of Crimea. I believe that Canada is well suited for this role because Crimea – is primarily concerned with the rights and freedoms of the person”, – he stressed.

The President also pointed out that diplomatic efforts are necessary to reinforce the defense and economic stability of Ukraine.

Answering the question about military assistance, Trudeau stated that the list of tools for common tasks is already there.

“We will stay forever with Ukraine in the fight against the illegal aggression of Russia against Ukraine, and efforts by Russia to destabilize Ukraine. We struggle with this,” he said, adding that Canada provides assistance to instructors, training of Ukrainian servicemen.
