The pirates, the captured crew members of the ship BBC Caribbean in the territorial waters of Nigeria, put forward their demands, said the head of the Department of consular service of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Kirilich.
“Authorized to negotiate established contact with the kidnappers of the members of the crew of the ship BBC Caribbean. The pirates announced their demands and reported a satisfactory state of crew members,” he said on Tuesday.
V. Kirilich said that the demands made by the kidnappers, is not public information.
“The group that leads the negotiations, has been generated by the owner of the vessel, and she is negotiating with a group of kidnappers is absolutely confidential in the interest of the case for the release of hostages”, – he said.
As reported, on 8 February 2017 the Russian Embassy in Nigeria reported the kidnapping by pirates of the seven Russian sailors and one Ukrainian: “In the territorial waters of Nigeria has been a pirate attack on the ship BBC Caribbean. From the side subjected to pirate attack ship BBC Caribbean kidnapped seven citizens of Russia and citizen of Ukraine”.
