The Pentagon is not ready for military cooperation with Russia

The Pentagon chief said that Moscow needs to “prove himself” and to uphold international law.

Pentagon chief James Mattis said that his country was not yet ready for military cooperation with Russia, including joint fight against the “Islamic state” in Syria.

However, Mattis said that the U.S. will continue to engage politically with Russia to try to find a common language.

The Pentagon chief also said that Moscow needs to “prove himself” and to uphold international law.

We will remind, the United States stopped military relations with Russia after the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
