The party of Angela Merkel has somewhat improved their position, and right-wing populists – made it worse.
The conservative bloc consisting of the Christian social Union (CSU) and Christian democratic Union (CDU), electoral list is headed by Chancellor Angela Merkel, won the parliamentary elections in Germany.
This is evidenced by preliminary official results of the vote after counting all ballots. Data released in the night of Monday, September 25.
The CDU/CSU is supported by 33% of voters. For the Social Democratic party of Germany (SPD) led by Martin Schulz voted 20.5% of voters.
Both parties suffered considerable losses compared to the results of the elections in 2013. Then the conservatives scored a 41.5%, SPD 25.7 per cent. The social Democrats, with the worst result in its history, has announced the resignation of opposition.
In third place – right populist Alternative for Germany (ADH) with 12.6% of the votes. She first enters the Bundestag.
Followed by the liberal Free democratic party of Germany (FDP) c 10.7 percent, the Left party – c 9.2% and the Union 90/green – c of 8.9%.
Other parties scored less than five percent needed for representation in Parliament.
Final voting results will be officially announced in about a week after the election.
After Martin Schulz about leaving the SPD in opposition to the only mathematically and politically possible option of the new ruling coalition is the Union of the CDU/CSU, FDP and green. Previously, all parliamentary parties have ruled out the possibility of cooperating with right-wing populists of ADH.
