The number of refugees from Syria has exceeded five million people

In the UN data do not include Syrians who have been granted asylum in the EU.

Since the beginning of the civil conflict in Syria, the total number of refugees from that country in the Middle East States exceeded 5 million people. It’s the number of Syrians in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt, according to the Office of the UN high Commissioner for refugees.

Thus, according to the Agency, only about 500 thousand refugees are placed in special refugee camps.

From the beginning of 2017, their number increased by almost 200 thousand.

While in the UN data do not include Syrians who have been granted asylum in other countries, particularly in the EU.

According to official data, in 2015, in Syria, lived 18.5 million people.
