New secret test complex of Russia came to the U.S. satellite operator DigitalGlobe.
It is reported Jane’s 360 and posts pictures, posted in open access.
The facility is located at the Kapustin Yar, Astrakhan region, Russia. Footage dated July 30, 2017. The coordinates of the test complex are 48°36’15.8″ North latitude and 45°59’04.9″ East longitude. While on Google Maps the test area is hidden.
According to the publication, with a plot associated with the testing of a missile defense system A-235 (OCD “nudol”), which was held on 16 December 2016. This was the first test of this area and the third successful A-235.
The system of a-235 is designed to intercept ballistic aerospace purposes and hypersonic missiles, and maneuvering manned and unmanned spacecraft.
