The NBU has not yet received confiscated, “Yanukovych’s money”

Confiscated funds are now in the state Treasury account in Oschadbank.

The national Bank has not yet received the confiscated money of former President Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage, but expects to receive them soon, said Deputy head of the NBU Oleg Churiy.

At the end of last month, the court confiscated the money of Yanukovych’s entourage in the amount of $ 1.5 billion. In turn, the defence denies the involvement of Yanukovych to the confiscated money. According to them, in his account in Oshchadbank only 28 million.

“Today we have not received the so-called funds of Yanukovych. They are now in the state Treasury account in Oschadbank. We expect to obtain the money in the near future”, – he told reporters.

The Deputy head of the national Bank explained that this is a matter for the Ministry of Finance and the state Treasury.

“But we believe that these funds should be transferred to the account of the Treasury of the National Bank and to be deposited in the international reserves,” he said.
