The national Bank explained why the Ukrainians began to buy foreign currency

The demand for currency rose due to two factors, says Curi.

The excess of people buying foreign currency on the sale in October for the first time since Jan 2015 associated with monetary liberalization and seasonal factors. This was stated by Deputy head of the National Bank Oleg Churiy the program of the First strip.

“We believe that there are two factors. The first is that the NBU is pursuing liberalization, and in August of this year, we allowed banks to sell more currency with positions, and they have become more currency to sell to the public. On the other hand, in the fall we always have a seasonal factor – that the purchase of foreign currency by the population and the purchase of foreign currency “gray” economy,” he said.

Recall the first time in three years, Ukrainians bought more foreign currency than sold.
