The most likely end to human civilization

According to the scientist, the person will displace artificial superintelligence.

A scientist from the Massachusetts Institute of technology, USA Max Tegmark in an interview with IEEE Spectrum outlining the basic scenario of the likely end to human civilization in the future. In his opinion, the greatest danger to humans is artificial superintelligence.

It is reported that this was discussed in the recently released theoretical physicist the book “Life 3.0”.

Tegmark implies in his book superintelligence, endowed with consciousness: “When I talk about consciousness I mean subjective experience: it feels something like me.”

He also emphasizes that the study of artificial intelligence often ignores the problem of consciousness, not paying attention to the differences between unconscious and conscious information processing, which is characteristic of animate and inanimate nature.

In this regard, the scholar urges the mankind to think about their future, which is associated with artificial intelligence.

“Just because we don’t know what goes wrong, does not mean that we don’t have to think about it,” he notes.
