More than ten years, the Czech photographer David Tesinsky travels the world and photographs of representatives of different subcultures. On some images made them look easy, because they depict people with painful addictions. However, these documentary photographs are important because imagine a full cross-section of society without margins – it is impossible.
The pictures of David Tesinsky you can see different marginalized from the followers of Rastafarians in Jamaica to Satanists from his native Czech Republic. One of the latest series of his works is called “Before the night begin”, the author talks about the LGBT community in Cuba. There, despite the strict social framework, people live as they see fit, not hiding it.
David Tesinsky talks about their projects: “I have always been interested in subcultures, in particular I was fascinated by their philosophy, or at least the way of self-expression, resorted to her followers”. Often pictures become a way to tell the world about what is happening in a country where openly Express revolutionary sentiments impossible. For example, young people from the Iranian resistance leads in the underground, fighting for their freedom, and David especially makes the pictures that tell the truth about the situation in Iran outside the country. “When I see the oppression of the rights of animals or people, I feel angry, and the camera becomes a great weapon to defeat the indifference to this subject from the public,” says David. He is confident that his pictures should stir up the society, be the impetus for positive changes in the world.
