On the territory of South America is over 300 national parks of various sizes. The most famous of them — the Galapagos Islands with many volcanoes and the Atacama desert, one of the driest places in the world: precipitation was not observed for four centuries. The mountain, located in the Atacama region, reaching a height 6885 meters and have no glaciers.
Many other parks of the continent is unique. Torres del Paine in Chile, the surprising natural diversity. Park Tayrona in Colombia attracts lovers of marine life, because its territory includes the coast and the coral reef contains about 100 species of marine polyps.
Each Park is a place where strictly protected rare species of animals and plants, many of which are endemic, they are impossible to find elsewhere.
