Contractors give a guarantee on the quality of the road.
Ukraine goes to the ten-year guarantee contractors on the quality of repair of roads. This was stated by the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian during the inspection of road racing – Sand in the Lviv region, where he announced the construction of additional motorway to the city.
“For the second year in Ukraine, all companies carrying out road works, guarantee a minimum of five years. And now we are moving to a ten-year warranty,” – said the Minister.
According to him, it is the obligation of the contractor in case of any defects to remove them at his own expense.
“This year, for the first time conducted an audit of all roads completed in 2016. Defects discovered at least a quarter of them and all of them were rectified by the contractors. Only a small percentage of companies decided to cheat and to resolve the conflict in court. However, they closed the path for further development and participation in tenders in Ukraine”, – said Omeljan.
Earlier Omeljan noted that in 2017 Ukraine plan to repair roads will not be completed due to lack of funding – conduct overhaul only 2 thousand kilometers of roads of the planned 2.5 thousand kilometers.
As added the Chairman of Lviv regional state administration Oleg sinyutka, 200 kilometres of roads were renovated in the past year in the region, the defects were only discovered on the road Brody – Ternopil. And they were eliminated at the expense of the contractor, which made a marriage.
We will remind as reported in August the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in the following year for the construction of roads in the country will be allocated 30 billion. The draft state budget for the year 2018 provides for increased funding of the construction and repair of Ukrainian roads by 37% compared with the 2017 year – on-year to 44 billion. In addition, the government of Ukraine postponed the beginning of repair and construction of roads from December to August at the request of Poroshenko.
