This opinion was expressed by retired Colonel, participant of the first peacekeeping battalion of Ukraine in Sarajevo Mikhail Savchenko.

According to him, the peacekeeping mission in Donbas “will be of little use” because the Kremlin will agree only on a mission with the Russians.
In this context, the military said that the Russian peacekeepers were in Abkhazia — “at first they were peacekeepers, and then became an occupation force”.
“Only a strong global player can put the point in this story. And this is the role of the United States. When they put the Kremlin in such a framework, in such conditions, when they can’t do in response, and then everything will be solved. This may be as a political decision and the military,” — said the expert.
As for the bright Pro-Ukrainian statements of the US special envoy on Ukraine, Kurt Volker, Savchenko believes that public policy does not reflect the real situation.
“Leadership of large countries negotiating secret channels of communication, and, if you know what they say, it is possible to do conclusions”, — he added.
