Vakarchuk answered the question whether he is going to run for President of Ukraine.
Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, the leader of the group “Okean Elzy”, met with the Ukrainian Diaspora in new York answered the question of whether to run for President. About this on his page in Facebook wrote journalist Julia Gorodetskaya.
“Vakarchuk has not yet confirmed that it will go in presidents. But does not refute. Reacts with the words: “Well, who told you that I’m going over there”. He is now studying at Stanford University, and before that was, as you remember, Yale,” wrote Gorodetskaya.
The journalist posted a video from the meeting Vakarchuk with the Ukrainians in “Naukova TOVARISTVO im. Shevchenko” in the United States, where they discussed the role of the Diaspora in the development of a democratic Ukraine.
“We, the Ukrainians, the original people and have to carry your genetic code. And I am sure that we will continue to carry it. But, you know, you can be original and have own style. But when you learn to write the letters, you should write them as other, otherwise you will not understand. And your handwriting is, it is not so important. And we let it be a Ukrainian handwriting letters worldwide. That Western civilization perceives, understands, and enjoyed” – he said.
Note that Svyatoslav Vakarchuk went to the USA to spend the fall semester in one of the most prestigious universities – Stanford University. There he will serve simultaneously as a lecturer and as a student.
