The labour Ministry has proposed to raise the minimum wage to 12 130 thousand rubles in 2020

The minimum wage (SMIC) from 1 January 2020 may reach 12 thousand 130 roubles. The project of the Ministry of labour published on the Federal portal of projects of normative legal acts.

“To set a minimum wage from January 1, 2020 in the amount of 12 thousand 130 roubles a month” — the document says.

From 1 January 2019, the minimum wage was raised to 11 thousand 280 rubles.

In January 2018, it was reported that the minimum wage (SMIC) will equate to a living wage since may 1, 2018. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We have positive dynamics of the Russian economy persists. We have the opportunity from may 1 this year to equalize the minimum wage and a living wage, we’ll do it,” — said Putin.
