Russia has offered the United States to improve relations.
The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia has proposed to Washington to improve Russian-American relations.
This statement was made official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
“We don’t just see (the possibility of improving relations – ed.) we actively talk about it, call and offer,” – said Zakharov.
According to her, Russia has not closed doors to US even in the course of activities of the previous administration.
“Even in the most extreme, most bizarre moments we have always said that primacy remains interaction, collaboration, cooperation where it is mutually beneficial and mutually beneficial”, she said.
The diplomat stressed that the only basis for cooperation between Moscow and Washington is the observance of international law, conducting it on the basis of mutual respect on the basis of the UN Charter.
“We never closed doors, even when we were openly rude in the face. I think it’s very striking example was the expulsion of Russian diplomats last December 2016 and blocking of Russian property on the territory of the United States. Then we didn’t respond emotionally, gave more than half of the States in order to resolve this situation to get out of it, saving face in Washington,” – said Zakharov.
According to her, the Kremlin allowed Washington to move to interaction “from unilateral confrontation, however, no action on the part of Washington was not taken.”
