Lavrov lamented the lack of reaction of the USA and Ukraine on the initiative of the Russian Federation’s peacekeepers.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov complained about the lack of reaction of the USA and Ukraine on the Kremlin’s proposal for peacekeepers in the Donbas.
In the words of the head of Russian diplomacy, Moscow made a proposal and justify it from all sides, the mouth including Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“No specific proposal on paper through the text of our initiative we from anybody did not get…If they don’t want to discuss it, what can we do? We are not going to get them” – quoted Lavrov, Pro-government news Agency TASS.
September 5, Russian President Putin said that he supports the introduction of UN peacekeepers in the Donbass, according to him, the presence of UN peacekeepers in the Donbass “would benefit”.
He also instructed the Russian foreign Ministry to submit an appropriate draft resolution to the UNSC.
The same day Russia sent to the United Nations the draft resolution on the placement of peacekeepers in the Donbass.
The Ukrainian foreign Ministry said that the deployment of the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass can take place only after the consent of the Ukrainian side.
In the diplomatic office noted that Putin’s statement is another attempt of Russia, which is itself a party to the conflict, to submit to the aggression of the internal Ukrainian conflict and distort the very purpose of peacekeeping operations.
