The head of the CIA assessed the possibility of starting a war with North Korea

A us official shared his opinion on the relevant issue.

According to the Director of the CIA Mike Pompeo, nothing indicates an imminent threat of a nuclear war between the US and North Korea.

“I heard talk about the fact that we are on the brink of nuclear war. I have not seen any intelligence that would indicate that we are now there”, – he said in an interview with Fox News.

At the same time, Pompeo added that the regime in North Korea “alarming rate” is developing its missile program. Therefore, another missile test North Korea could take place and it is no surprise. Pompeo also expressed the belief that North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN “will continue to try to develop” a nuclear program of their country. At the same time, the Director of the CIA warned that “strategic patience” of Washington in this matter coming to an end.

Recall, North Korea announced plans to launch medium-range missiles in the Pacific, where the us military base on the island of GUAM. In turn, it was reported that the Pentagon has prepared a plan for a preventive strike against targets in North Korea. The US President Donald trump said that North Korea is waiting for the problems that “few countries have faced”. According to trump, Pyongyang should “pull myself together” in order to avoid problems.

The European Council expanded sanctions against North Korea imposed over Pyongyang’s continued nuclear testing and missile weapons. In the sanctions list of the EU added nine individuals and four legal entities.
