Director of flight operations, chief pilots Indian national carrier Air India Arvind Kathpalia suspended from work for three months because of suspicion of alcohol consumption before the flight.
According to Indian aviation rules, pilots must not drink alcohol within 12 hours before the flight. The crew of domestic flights must undergo specific medical test before flying or after, if before departure to do that for some reason failed.
Pilots of international airlines are required to undergo both a medical test, because during the flight on Board the available alcoholic drinks. Pilots who refuse screening or those who have blood revealed an alcohol suspension for at least four weeks.
