The head of the Perm edge Victor Basargin has declared that has submitted to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin his resignation.
However, he declined to comment on the rumors about his possible appointment as the Plenipotentiary of the President in the Urals Federal district (UFD).
Earlier on Monday Basargin announced plans to voluntarily lay down their gubernatorial powers. Official Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the rumors about the impending resignation of the head of the Perm territory promised to inform the media in case of acceptance by the President of the relevant decision.
On the same day, the newspaper “Vedomosti”, citing a source close to the Kremlin made a resignation of several heads of Russian regions. Among likely candidates are: head of Karelia (Alexander Khudilainen), Buryatia (Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn), governors in Ryazan (Oleg Kovalev), Sverdlovsk (Evgeny Kuyvashev), Novgorod (Sergei Mitin) and Ivanovo (Pavel Konkov) regions, as well as head of the Perm region (the Governor).
