In Luxembourg the court of justice of the European Union adopted the decision on the appeal of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and his son Oleksandr Yanukovych regarding the sanctions imposed on them in the EU in 2015-2016. Thus, the court upheld the freezing of assets.

On 15 September the European court of General jurisdiction ruled on two waves of sanctions imposed by the Council of the EU against Yanukovych. Then in Luxembourg, “in retrospect” lifted sanctions, dated 2014, but confirmed the potential of more new sanctions in 2015.
