Flagship smartphone LG G6, as you know, runs on the Qualcomm 821 2016 release, while all its competitors were more modern SoC with index 835. This, of course, omission, and therefore next year a new LG G7 will become the world’s first mobile phone powered by the latest Qualcomm 845.
This became known from insiders at Qualcomm: in order to avoid repeating such blunders LG has started cooperation with the American chip maker in advance this month. But alas, she’s not alone – Samsung is also already taken Qualcomm to the revolution, because she also needs the flagship chip of 2018 for its new flagship the Samsung S9. Work on the latter has already started, only it will be released no earlier than next spring. Note that it is Samsung’s fault that LG G6 runs on an old CPU she bought all the first batch 835, in order to maintain a competitive advantage, at least at the start of sales of S8, and she did it.
With LG G7 is unlikely to be repeated, so that the belief in Korean vendor gets stronger every day. As to the CPU 845, according to preliminary data, it will outpace the current 835 by 30% in terms of performance, although the current CPU has no equal either in power or efficiency.
