The film is about Sentsov noted at prestigious international festival

The film received the audience award.

A film about the Ukrainian political prisoner of Crimean Director Oleg Sentsov “Process” by Russian Director Askold Kurova received the audience award at the documentary film festival Verzio International in Budapest (Hungary).

The award was received by the producer of the film Maria Gavrilova.

Note, festival of films about human rights Verzio International held annually since 2004. It aims to promote an open society, democratic values and freedom of thought.

The film “the Process” was released in Ukrainian cinemas in April this year.


Recall that Sentsov was arrested in may 2014 in Simferopol, together with Gennady Afanasiev, Alexei Cimym and Alexander Kolchenko. The court found them guilty of preparing terrorist acts in Crimea and arson of offices of the two parties in Simferopol. Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
