This opinion was expressed by the President of the Association of road safety Michael Berlin.
“Seat belts does not do. But if such a law is adopted, by requiring the use of seat belts can reduce injuries of all types by 40-50%, reduce the number of fatalities in 40-65%. Planting child against the motion is the reduction of all injuries by 76% and injury severity by 92%,” – said the expert.
According to him, it is also necessary to address the issues of speed limits, the law which is not working.
“If the video camera and images will be put from us, that the world experience shows that the level of all traffic accidents reduced by 50% and the number of dead and injured decreased by 35%. It also reduces the number of dead and injured pedestrians in the range of the camera. We now have in an accident more than 40% were pedestrians,” – said Berlin.
He noted that Ukraine, due to the fact that the police canceled the card account, there is no possibility to analyze and systematize the causes of accidents.
“According to the world health organization, approximately 80% of all accidents are the fault of the person because of his aggressive driving. So first of all you need to engage with people. According to the researches, the who, the overwhelming majority of road accident occur from-for excess of speed, alcohol, failure to use seatbelt failure to use child restraint failure to use helmets,” added the expert.
