The expert said about the inevitability of the law on the special status of Donbass

The validity of the old law on the special status of Donbass will expire on September 16.

The validity of the law on the special status of Donbas, passed by Ukraine on 16 September 2014 after Minsk-1, expires September 16 this year. After this date the Minsk process will be impossible to realize, and the territory ORDO will lose legal status within Ukraine. This was stated by Director of the Ukrainian Institute of global strategies of development and adaptation (WESGRO) Victor Levitsky.

He noted that today in BP was several bills. In addition, in recent times there are several government initiatives, evidence of mitigation of the situation of immigrants.

This, according to experts, could mean two things: either the government is trying to create the most favorable conditions for IDPs before you finally say goodbye to their homeland. Or was finally given the go-ahead on the normalization of relations with Ukraine, loyal residents ORDO.

“In any case, it is hoped that our country will not come to Sep 16, completely unprepared, and the solution of crucial problems for Ukraine, as it often happens, does not appear out of nowhere and will not be accepted without discussions with experts and civil society,” says Levitsky.
