The European Union lifted the ban on the import of poultry from Ukraine

The EU has lifted restrictions on most regions of Ukraine.

The European Union as a whole in addition to individual regions, was removed from Ukraine’s ban on the export of poultry, since February of 2017 in the state has not recorded cases of bird flu.

It is reported by the state foods and consumer service.

“Thanks to the adoption of the measures in the manual for the prevention of influenza in poultry and effective operation of Gospodarevskaya February 2017 in the state has not recorded cases of bird flu, because the EU as a whole, except for some regions, was removed from Ukraine’s ban on the export of poultry,” – said at the Board meeting of the State service of Ukraine on issues of food safety and consumer protection Director of Department of food safety and veterinary Boris Kobal.

He stressed that the main factor of the spread of bird flu in the world are infected with the pathogen of wild birds, which in spring and autumn penetrate into Ukraine from the South, West, North and East in line with its own migration routes.

“The main challenge at present is the diagnosis and timely identification and implementation of measures,” – said the Director of the Department of food safety and veterinary.

“These events and the work of Gospodarevskaya appreciated in the European Union – they recognized the regionalization of the disease we have, accordingly, we recognized regionalization in the European Union, because today the ban on export of poultry from Ukraine as a whole is removed. In regions where the disease was recorded, he is,” said the Director of the Department of food safety and veterinary. He also asked the audience to increase awareness among entrepreneurs in their regions on this issue.

“The situation with bird flu is controlled,” said Kobal.
