The EU wants Russia to bilateral lifting of sanctions

In the Bundestag announced the conditions for lifting the sanctions against Russia. This was stated by Vice-President of the German Federal Assembly Thomas Opperman. We are talking about the restrictions that were imposed on Russia in connection with accession of the Crimea.

According to Opperman, an important factor for the lifting of sanctions – implementation of the Minsk agreements. However, the implementation of these agreements depends not only on Russia. The implementation of some of the items for several years “slows down” the Ukrainian side. Moscow hopes that the implementation of the agreements on the part of Kiev, after the post enters the new President, Vladimir Zelensky. Opperman is confident: if Russia will respect the sovereignty of Ukraine, it is possible to reach consensus and agree on the bilateral cancellation of sanctions.

Moscow has repeatedly said that sanctions do not contribute to the settlement of the conflict. In General, these interventions did not cause much damage to the Russian side. However, relations with the EU deteriorated. The removal of restrictions is likely to help re-establish cooperation.
