The EU insists that the residents of Donbass and Crimea were able to travel without visas, using the Ukrainian biometric passport.
The EU did not support the initiative of the President of Petro Poroshenko on the results residents uncontrolled Kiev areas of Donbass and Crimea passports of the old sample.
Earlier, Poroshenko instructed to consider the results LDNR and the residents of the Crimea passports of the old sample. According to him, it is necessary to do if problems arise with the issuance of biometric passports.
“That is not our understanding. All Ukrainian citizens, no matter where they lived, and who have a biometric passport can travel without a visa”, – said the head of the EU delegation to Ukraine Hugh Mingarelli.
He stressed that the EU insists that the residents of Donbass and Crimea without a visa to travel to Europe using the Ukrainian biometric passport.
Mingarelli added that the EU’s position was communicated to the Ukrainian authorities.
“I don’t know whether they agree, but it is a reality,” said the EU representative.
