Internal combustion engines even before “bury”
A few weeks ago, Porsche announced its intention to leave endurance racing LMP1 and concentrate on races in Formula E, which will become a “laboratory” for the development of electric technologies.
In addition, the engineers of the brand have begun work on the creation of a completely new high-performance petrol engine.
Michael Steiner, head of the development division of Porsche, while chatting with reporters, said that at the moment, engineers are working on the latest petrol engine, which will absorb many advanced technologies.
Mr. Steiner believes that internal combustion engines used to “bury” because such motors can be increased to meet modern standards and even make them more powerful. Unfortunately, the top Manager of the Porsche did not specify what is the purpose of a new motor. Experts do not exclude that we are talking about the engine for Formula 1, which confirms the rumors of the intention of the brand will be back in the series.
Also, the new engine can be used to create a road car. Mr. Steiner hinted that the Porsche company has a huge experience in Motorsport that can be a hint that the new engine will go under the hood of a racing car.
