The doctors explained why teenagers is very harmful to skip Breakfast

Children simply need good nutrition.

Scientists have once again explained why Breakfast is so important. Skipping the first meal of the teenagers later have weaker bones, a small brain and a slow metabolism.

For many years, experts in the field of healthy nutrition talking about the importance of Breakfast. Scientists from king’s College London has provided an even more obvious proof that Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. They found that receiving Breakfast children and adolescents consequently suffer much less of a problem with the bones.

It turned out that young people who skip Breakfast, increase the likelihood of serious developmental problems that can affect them later in life. In particular, they do not get sufficient iron, gold, calcium and iodine, which reduces the size and functionality of the brain, and decreased energy levels.

Observation of a large group of children and adolescents aged 4 to 18 years, which continued in the period from 2008 to 2012, showed that 25% of adolescents aged 11 to 18 skip Breakfast every day, and 7% from age 4 to 10 years doing the same thing. While every third child, skipping Breakfast, loses iron, and about 20% of calcium or iodine. In 7% there is a deficit of folate.

If the child faces a deficiency of iron, conducting the oxygen through the body, his body does not produce enough oxygen-carrying red blood cells. Without this oxygen the children get tired quicker. This affects the functionality of the brain and the immune system. Iron is important for maintaining healthy cells, skin and hair. Meanwhile, the needs in this mineral decrease as they grow older. Ages 4 to 8 years old child needs 10 mg of iron a day, but from 9 to 13 years 8 mg.

Calcium is essential for building bones and teeth, it performs other important functions. Calcium deficiency causes osteoporosis in addition to problems with the hormones and contractions of the muscles. Children need more calcium as they grow older. Finally, iodine is important for normal functioning of the thyroid gland.
