Andres, Moschetti, who became famous a few years ago, their debut full-length horror film “Mama”, and now representing the film “It” based on the novel by Stephen king, told about his attitude to the previous film.
In any case, recall that in 1990, they released the us-canadian two-part television movie on motives of the same work. Hand on heart, say that there is nothing special about the scripts and the staging of this mini-series was not. Well, the theme music was memorable. However, over time, the band acquired a cult status. Why? Only thanks to actor Tim Curry, who embodied the image of a clown Pennywise on the screen. In fact, the cult was not the painting itself, and it is this character that everyone fears and love.
Perhaps everyone except Andres, Moscetti:
Honestly, I’ve never been a big fan of mini-series. I was not a child when he left in 1990. So I was closer to the book and all the world of Stephen king, not a mini-series. Of course, I recognize how significant this mini-series for the generation. However, you have to admit that “It” effect on this generation, because they saw his very young eyes on TV or on VHS tape. Most people don’t remember anything from there, but they scare the iconic scene with the clown in sheets and in a storm drain in the beginning.
Well, maybe someone will argue with the Director I probably will not.
Meanwhile, a new adaptation of the novel “It” will arrive in Russian theaters September 7!
