Canadian Jovanka Vukovic , until recently, was known only as a master of special effects and one of the authors of the famous horror magazine Rue Morgue. However, she directed several short films, participated in the aforementioned anthology, and now is set to debut in full metre.
The film is called “the Rebels” (Riot Girls) and it tells about an alternative world in which
Four years after a mysterious disease killed all the adults in the 91st. The town of Potter’s bluff is divided between two warring factions. On the “East side” live among the ruins of the litter, and scavenging. On the “West side” is the diktat of a Jeremy, and all the wealth stored in the former school building.
Young Jack lived in the East but he was captured and sentenced to death for the murder of two Westerners. His sister, NAT, along with her best friend Scratch will try to sneak into enemy territory to rescue Jack.
90s, post-Apocalypse, howling kids… “Lord of the flies” and “Turbo kid” in one bottle? I like it already.
And the name of the town of Potter’s bluff is a reference to “Buried but not dead”?
Starring in “the Rebel” will be performed by Madison ISMAN (“City of monsters”) and Paloma Kwiatkowski (“Bates Motel”). Both have already 20 years of age and above, so not so kids, it turns out.

This is not the movie that is usually given to remove the women characters, which women usually do not play, so I, of course, immediately interested. In addition, it reminds my favourite scenes from cult films, and being an outsider in life, I can’t without enthusiasm to relate to the cool adventures of misfits. I’m really happy to stand at the helm of this rather complicated punk-rock post-apocalyptic film.
So with curiosity we will wait for further details about the “Rebels”, since shooting has already begun.
